semana fala sobre performance no lado do cliente, alem
de varias outras facilidades da nova versao do Java
Runtime Environment 1.3 (que estara disponivel no
inicio do ano que vem).
Alguns trechos interessantes:
- Client-side users now enjoy the speed advantage of the
new Java HotSpot Client Virtual Machine.
- Java Foundation Classes and Project Swing (JFC/Swing)
libraries have been super-tuned
- NetBeans vice president of development Ian Formanek says,
"Client-side performance is notably enhanced with JDK 1.3.
The user interface is extremely responsive and memory
requirements have dropped significantly."
- AOL has shipped 100 million CDs with the JavaTM 2
Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) Java Runtime Environment
and more than 3.6 million users have downloaded AOL 5.0,
which includes the J2SE Java Runtime Environment
