The location of the cache dir in the patch above is in $ACCUMULO_HOME if its
not specified. I just figured that there would be enough disk space here in the
default configuration as the logs would be placed here also. People typically
install software in /opt, /usr/local, or some other place with a good amount of
disk space. I don't object to your suggestion, only to say that you don't want
to fill up /tmp.
