Eric Newton commented on ACCUMULO-594:
--------------------------------------

That would be great, Supun!

The monitor is a simple web server that pulls metrics from other components in
Accumulo. It's the first place I go to look for problems.

This ticket is to add graphs for each table and server in the cluster. But
there's a lot of things that could be done in the monitor.

[See the
list|https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?jql=project%20%3D%20ACCUMULO%20AND%20component%20%3D%20monitor%20AND%20resolution%20%3D%20Unresolved%20and%20type%20%3D%20Improvement]

In particular, it's important to look for outliers: hotspots, slow performance.
The current monitor lets users sort long lists of numerical information. But
that's not much of a visualization.

> The monitor overview page plots accumulo performance data over time for all
> tables. I would like to be able to see this data over time per table (and
> maybe per tablet server). Could add this to the monitor page. Eric
> suggested maybe using OpenTSDB to collect and view this data.
