A simple fix would be to configure redirectTestOutputToFile=true [1] on the 
surefire-plugin. Personally, I prefer to be able to actually read the test 
times as they scroll by.

The other simple fix would be to just add/fix the log4j configuration in 
src/test/resources.

Either are possible; Do people have an opinion on the subject? I know this was 
brought up not to long ago, but I don't think we ever actually came to any 
consensus.
