Josh Elser commented on ACCUMULO-1795:
--------------------------------------

bq. I thought for Accumulo 1.5 we were sticking with 1.0.4 as the default
hadoop-1 version and moving to 1.2.1 for Accumulo 1.6.

No, that's wrong too. Our hadoop 1 dependency is 1.2.1 across 1.5 and 1.6 (and
onward). The difference between 1.5 and 1.6 is that 1.5 defaults to hadoop1 and
1.6 defaults to hadoop2.

The git commit commenting can be a bit confusing at times because we want to
keep the ability to merge "up" along versions of Accumulo (x -> y -> z...). It
makes dealing with "divergent" changes more onerous, but I'm not sure of a way
around this that also preserves our ability to merge up.

> ensure 1.4 remains compatible with Hadoop 0.20.203
