We've needed several follow on tickets lately to fix warnings introduced by
patches.
It would be easier to catch these earlier if we update our maven configuration
to surface them in the normal build.
* We should show warnings for lint issues, generally
* If possible, we should fail the build if issues show up
(If the current tree isn't clean, a follow on cleanup ticket should be made a
prereq for this one)
