I thought this was considered build/packaging improvements (note the "build"
category in the ticket), in the same category as documentation or maven
improvements... not an actual Accumulo feature subject to the feature freeze.
All it does is make the bootstrap_config a bit smarter with Hadoop 1/2, so
users have one less config line to edit on Hadoop 1. I didn't realize it would
have been contentious in any way. I don't mind it being reverted... but I don't
think it's the kind of improvement that we're concerned about introducing bugs
or anything of that sort... as it contains absolutely zero changes that impact
any testing or any actual Accumulo code.
It was originally marked for 1.7.0, because I didn't think it would be ready or
useful enough to include in 1.6.0 build. It turns out, it's *VERY* useful,
because the prompt for the Hadoop version makes my testing go much smoother
(I'm testing on Hadoop 1, and the default in the examples is Hadoop 2).
