Bill Havanki created ACCUMULO-2672:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Fix interpretation of empty absolute-path configuration
properties
Key: ACCUMULO-2672
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-2672
Project: Accumulo
Issue Type: Test
Reporter: Bill Havanki
Assignee: Bill Havanki
Priority: Minor
Follow-on to ACCUMULO-2657.
The Shard randomwalk test can fail if the {{general.maven.project.basedir}}
property differs between a table and its copy. This can happen if servers start
from different Java user directories, because the default property value of ""
(the empty string) is run through {{new File("").getAbsolutePath()}}, and that
file is expanded to become the user directory.
Fix how that default value is defined or interpreted so that the test passes
without having to explicitly set the property.
The ultimate goal is to future-proof {{AccumuloClassLoader}}. Currently, it is
the only true consumer of the property, and it pulls it directly from
accumulo-site.xml instead of going through the configuration system. Because of
this, it is not subject to the value becoming the user directory, which is a
Good Thing. If it were someday refactored to use the configuration system,
though, it could then start to pull test classes in from the user directory,
which should not happen in production and could lead to a security violation.
