My opinion (since the configuration properties remain labeled experimental in
the code, and as such, do not appear in documentation or in the shell), is that
we should reduce the scope of this ticket and close it, AND update the release
notes to indicate the feature is still experimental, and expected to be
available in a forthcoming release (perhaps even 1.6.1).
