David Medinets commented on ACCUMULO-3560:
------------------------------------------

How can we create the Accumulo-equivalent of https://mms.mongodb.com or
https://mongolab.com? These are hosted database solutions. mms.mongodb.com has
an agent that will run on your local box to install mongo. mongolab.com is a
front-end to AWS and other cloud providers.

> Create de-facto "single-command" solution for running Accumulo

> It was identified that just getting Accumulo up and running "correctly" is
> still a source of pain.
> We have a few solutions which are on the order of a command or two which
> enable users (or devs, for that matter), to start up Accumulo and just start
> using it. We have MiniAccumulo, Instamo (and/or instamo archetype), the
> Accumulo maven plugin in "Apache". There are numerous Docker, Vagrant,
> other-newest-container-fad integrations available on Github projects.
> We should adopt some technology as the standard, and include it as some
> available tool for users (to provide a simple way to "try" accumulo) and devs
> (would be a good benchmark harness).
