Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-2778:
---------------------------------------------
Now that we have semver, the game has changed a bit. For example, documentation
which refers to 2.0.0 in a 2.0.1 release, should still be considered current.
Documentation which refers to 2.1.0 might be interpreted to be applicable to
2.1.0 and later, but not applicable to 2.0.1, and still current until 3.0.0.

> The example READMEs {{docs/examples*}} have a bunch of references to the
> specific version they were run against, for example the Accumulo version via
> some shell output or the version in the instance name.
> We should remove version specifics from the readmes so that it's less to
> maintain when we release a new number and doesn't give the impression of
> unmaintained docs.
