This patch should remove conflicts noted earlier. I did not include changes to
OpTimer, Servlets, and other places where there were still dependencies on
log4j Level class. I erred on the side of caution, reasoning that there are
still sub-tasks outstanding that can pick up changes that could have been made
but were not in this submission.
The modifications submitted by Bob that did not make it into this patch may
work and we can revisit them.
These changes should significantly reduce the scope of future commits. We
should be close enough that future tickets can focus on one component / topic
and be easier to review / incorporate.
