I attached a patch for 1.6. Looking at 1.7, it seems like a change would be
needed but in a different place. For 1.8 AFIACT it seems like no change is
needed. In 1.8 there is a new {{start-daemon.sh}} script which always does
nohup and this script is used to start local and remote processes.
