The latter approach sounds fine.
The VolumeChooserEnvironment currently specifies the table id. It could be
changed to either specify if a boolean for the write-ahead log or more
generically that a tag should be checked along with the custom property. For
example, if the provided tag set to "logger", this would signal that the
general.custom.logger.<chooser specific property> should be checked and used.
I would like to have the PerTableVolumeChooser, which currently serves as a
delegating volume chooser, start handling these types of custom properties if
they are found in the environment.
