Only thing I noticed was that you should feel free to leave "old" patches 
attached to the JIRA issue. The numbering scheme you were doing is recommended 
and can be helpful to go back and review old changes (in the face of heated 
discussion).

You're also welcome to use pull requests on Github. We don't care too much 
either way.
