FYI for those following along ([~kturner]), I'm happy with Ben's current patch 
up on Reviewboard.

Speak up if you'd like some time to review/test before it's pushed. After the 
current patches I'm pushing through, I plan to pull Ben's down, do a little 
local test, and then push..
