If the Coordinator dies, the Compactor will continue to run the compaction but then fail to notify the Coordinator, nothing will be written into the metadata table to show that the compaction has completed and the tserver will think that the compaction is running. On a Coordinator restart, the Coordinator should contact the Compactor to see what's running and populate the RUNNING list. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
