It would be difficult to get a stack trace. Looking it over again though I was wrong initially. The OOM error IS on the client side, thrown when thrift tries to allocate a direct byte buffer. I made a patch on my system and it appears to have prevented the batch writer from getting stuck (as expected). -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
