We get retry conveniently, automatically, but we can interrupt it by cancelling the future. We can also get async, and we don't need to worry about throwing the ConcurrentModificationException. Maximum user choice, maximum dev flexibility. The only thing we don't provide is customization of the retry loop (delay period, backoff, max attempts), but I think that's fine.
