I think it makes sense for the check not to terminate the tablet server and log an error. The original intention of the check was to ensure what tablets have in memory matches the metadata table, it was not to test scanning the metadata table. Not being able to scan the metadata table is not great, but it was not the intent of the check. So the check can find problems that it was not designed to, that is a good thing. However the check finding a new unforeseen problem and not giving anyone a chance to work through it (because it nuked all the tservers) is not a good thing. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
