Looking at the code, the behavior seems the same. For table compactions initiated via API in 2.1 and elasticity both will call flush() table operation prior to initiated fate compation operation if flush is set on the compaction config. For system initiated tablet compactions in 2.1 and elasticity neither will flush the corresponding tablet before starting to compact files. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
