Just to capture some notes, @keith-turner and I talked a bit about this today and how this could be solved as a long term improvement. It seems like this could be improved by having some way to register sending notifications on changes to scan servers. This would have to be worked out in further details but ideally if the process could get notifications on row/column updates it would respond. This is another spot like #4664 that could benefit from the work being done to have long polling either with async thrift or with grpc in #4715 -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
