I started to work on this for 2.1.4 but there was some significant refactoring done in 3.1 to re-use all Gson objects and change how they are instantiated so none of the changes would merge forward. Because this is mostly about avoiding issues in future JDKs I think it's best to leave 2.1 alone and only make these changes in 3.1 and merge into main. There will be more work in main for elasticity (maybe a follow on PR) but I am hoping the changes in 3.1 would at least merge forward without too many conflicts to resolve but I need to test it. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
