Review Comment:
   Can move this somewhere accessible by both LookupTask and NextBatchTask and 
make the argument `ScanSession`. Avoids 2 methods doing the same thing

   This seems too broad of a check, should this be some function of

Review Comment:
   Would it be better to check the metrics after the regular scan and also 
after the batch scan instead of just once after both execute?
