We have solved this problem by extending the IBiblioResolver:
http://github.com/gradle/gradle/blob/master/subprojects/gradle-core/src/main/groovy/org/gradle/api/internal/artifacts/ivyservice/GradleIBiblioResolver.java
Of course you are free to integrate that into Ivy. Though, as said in the
discussion above, a generic solution would be much nicer.
