Hush movie review-Kate Siegel’s as deaf writer put “Hush” among best thrilling
movies

Hush movie review

On a random weekend, I was looking for horror and thrilling movies as usual.
Suddenly a plot description in Hush movie review made me play the movie without
giving a second thought. The plot stated a deaf writer fought for her life when
a masked killer appears at her doorstep.

A great mix of thrill and horror
Then I checked the cast and first name was Kate Siegel. Whose acting I admire a
lot since I watched her acclaimed horror film Oculus back in 2013. It’s
difficult to say Hush was a great action thriller or a horror thriller because
throughout the movie it was hard to blink the eyes as scene after scene the
movie was becoming more thrilling and scarier. On top of everything, Kate
Siegel acted really well as the wasn’t even a single scene where I felt she was
not in her character Madison Young (Maddie).

Jaw dropping scenes
Ok, so the best scene which gave me goosebumps which was also mentioned in Hush
movie review i read was when the killer sneak into the house. Took her pictures
without letting Maddie know, and sent them to her on her laptop. I don’t know
if I have made sense in explaining the scene or not. But, imagine you are
working on your laptop, thinking you are all alone, and then you receive your
pictures and those pictures are sent from your own mobile, scary right?
Apart from its suspense and horror, action was also filmed with an intention to
leave major impact.

There was a scene when Maddie’s ex-boyfriend comes to the house. Killer kills
him in front of her eyes but instead of losing hope, she starts calculating her
weaknesses and strengths against the killer and devise a plan. Such presence of
mind and dedication to never lose the hope comes from her past. She had
survived from bacterial meningitis and an unsuccessful surgery leading to
permanent loss of hearing and speaking abilities.

Clear depiction of serial killers’ psychology
This killer was a mentally disturbed attention seeker who had already killed 12
others and also made their notches on his crossbow he used as a killing weapon
which may seem a usual plot seen in many thrilling movies. But in Hush, this
man who had already killed many for fun before. Falls prey to Maddie’s
intelligence as she considered him a coward trying to kill for no good reason.
This approach of Maddie towards the killer has conveyed a very interesting
message that victims should never empower the criminal.

This message is very important to lead a confident everyday life because in
most of the cases. People surrender when they realize they have been victimized
for no crime and this is what empowers the invader. Maddie handled the psycho
man as he deserved instead of giving up considering herself alone. You will
learn from my Hush movie review that she fought till she could and smiled at
the end of the movie as she had found ending to her incomplete story that she
was writing in beginning of the movie.
Overall, one of the best thrilling movies with some teeth wrenching action
scenes, great storyline and above all great acting by Kate Siegel and Madison
Young.
