Yes, that is true. In my opinion, that is not a replacement for storing passwords in a hashed form when using the default feature. Having the default credential store (`secret manager` is ADDITIONAL software/infra you need) storing secrets in an unsecure way is not adhering to principles like Security by Design/Default and Defence in Depth. Storing secrets you don't need the cleartext for in clear text has been bad practice forever and costs (basically) nothing, apart from the initial implementation, which is minimal. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
