This is the etcd subchart’s expected image-source check. The latest stable APISIX Chart 2.18.0 still behaves this way: a custom proxy registry can fail the check when it does not match the image references recorded in the chart. It does not inspect image contents. The top-level global.security.allowInsecureImages: true setting you already confirmed is the provided way to skip this check.
