The change https://asterix-gerrit.ics.uci.edu/#/c/2025/ broke storage backward
compatibility. The tests didn't find the breakage.
Moreover, subsequent changes showed the break in the compatibility:

In addition, the tests doesn't show meaningful information in the logs about
what is being build and what breaks.
