Yes, I'll open PR to update couchdb if we'll get an agreement here and
couch_log_lager land as apache repo.
Lager is de-facto standard but it is not exclusive. There are heroku's
logplex, then log4erl - log4-family type of logger, alogger from "Siberian Fast
Food". In Cloudant we are using twig - SASL compliant logger that act as a
bridge to rsyslog. In general it's nice to have options, given there are good
working default.
