David Squier commented on COUCHDB-3395:
---------------------------------------
Per Joan-- This will be fixed in 2.1.
Until then, the workaround:
- Start a Windows command prompt
- Run: cd c:\CouchDB\bin
- Run: ./couchdb.cmd
Minimize the window and leave it running in the background.
> Cannot start CouchDB after first time install

> Project: CouchDB
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Build System
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0
> Reporter: Kun Shao
>
> OS:
> - Windows 10 Version 10.0.15063 Build 15063
> CouchDB Version:
> - 2.0.0 binary installation
> Observation:
> Installation Wizard successful, but localhost:5984/_utils/ does not connect.
> When I look at Resource Monitor -> Network, there is no process that is
> listening to port 5984. When I look at services.msc, the "Apache CouchDb"
> service is paused and cannot be restarted. Trying to restart the service
> gives me the following error:
> Windows could not start the Apache CouchDB service on Local Computer. The
> service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or
> an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your system
> administrator.
