ahayes commented on issue #1328: couchup fails with Connection Error, Bad Status Line URL: https://github.com/apache/couchdb/issues/1328#issuecomment-388840761 I think this is just a symptom of another problem affecting couchdb in an Ubuntu LX zone on SmartOS. After several couchdb restarts and couchup retries (each throwing different errors) it was ultimately successful in replicating. I am closing this and will add a comment pointing to the LX zone issue when I have it created.
