wohali edited a comment on issue #1388: Couchdb documentation for json index definition is unclear on support for indexing array fields URL: https://github.com/apache/couchdb/issues/1388#issuecomment-398222329 Confirmed that this syntax requires the clouseau/jenkins full text addon or "full text support" in Cloudant (which is the same thing) - what you're describing `field.[].field` is Lucene syntax, not mango syntax. As such it is *not* supported in core CouchDB at this time.
