The lintian problem is definitely one we need to fix, that's a new warning we didn't catch previously. We have a couple of other lintian warnings to block as well. 1. We still need ARM running regularly in the Jenkins CI builds before I will accept any PRs here. 1. We're currently releasing all packages for CouchDB using the exact same Erlang version. I don't really want to release packages using the "default" version of Erlang if we can avoid it. This means supplementing the scripts in couchdb-ci with the ability to build and install Erlang from source. 1. You're welcome to put up your own packages if you want, but official packages (that live in the Apache bintray account and are linked from couchdb.apache.org) require 1) as well as a PR against this repo (and couchdb-ci) with any necessary changes.
