James Joseph Masanz commented on CTAKES-492:
--------------------------------------------

rather than adding a new line with the java command and the umls parameters, it
was meant for you to insert the umls parameters between the "java" and the -cp
parameter on the existing line

So you will want to delete the  line that you inserted that contains

java  -Dctakes.umlsuser=

On the line above that, make the java command look something like the
following, but don't delete what appears after desc, and make sure to replace
Your_UMLS_Password with your actual UMLS password

java -Dctakes.umlsuser=qcheong -Dctakes.umlspw="Your_UMLS_Password"  -cp
"%CTAKES_HOME%\desc

> Hi experienced cTAKES users/ developers,
> I am a new user to cTAKES, and just downloaded cTAKES 4.0 based on
> installation guide. I am unable to set the environment variable correctly (I
> am also not a coder). It seems that the code stopped running at line 44 for
> me.
>
> Thanks for anyone who can provide some guidance!
