We're experiencing this same issue on Grails 7.0.4 when running as a WAR
file.
Configuration:
- Grails 7.0.4
- Java 17
- micronautPlatformVersion=4.9.2 (as per upgrade docs section 12.4)
- grails-micronaut plugin added per documentation
The root cause appears to be the version conflict:
- grails-bom:7.0.4 → micronaut-platform:4.10.1 (Micronaut Core 4.x)
- grails-micronaut:7.0.4 → micronaut-spring-bom:5.11.0 (requires
Micronaut 5.x)
ApplicationEventPublisher bean changed between Micronaut 4.x and 5.x.
Workaround: Commenting out grails-micronaut allows the application to
start successfully.
