Fixed on `8.0.x`. `bootJar` failed because the JSON-view classes were packaged twice. They were already registered as source-set output, and `AbstractGroovyTemplatePlugin` also copied that directory into `BOOT-INF/classes` with `jar.from(destDir)`. Gradle 7 then rejected the duplicate `myapp_error_gson$_run_closure1.class`. That extra copy was removed in 4458664a24 (2023-05-11, "Fixing class entry duplicate error when generating bootJar (#417)"). On current `8.0.x` (`d13aa332`), `AbstractGroovyTemplatePlugin.apply` registers the view classes once with `output.dir(destDir)` and only makes `jar`, `bootJar`, `war`, and `bootWar` depend on the compile task. `GrailsGsonViewsPlugin` uses that plugin. The comments that the failure was still present are all from before this commit (the last is 2023-02-22). The commit is in the 7.0.0 through 7.2.4 tags (not `v7.0.16`) and in `v8.0.0-M1` through `v8.0.0-RC2`. Closing as fixed. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
