A native image failed at startup while Groovy built its metaclass registry. `DgmMethodRecord.loadDgmInfo` hit a closed stream reading `META-INF/dgminfo`, and `MetaClassRegistryImpl` then threw a NullPointerException from `BuildSettings` and `Application` class initialization, before application code ran. `GroovyExtensionModuleRuntimeHints` now registers `META-INF/dgminfo`, and `grails-core` `native-image.properties` initializes `grails.util.BuildSettings` and `org.codehaus.groovy.vmplugin.VMPluginFactory` at run time.
