## Summary Spock 2.5 (2026-10-06) published `org.spockframework:spock-core:2.5-groovy-6.0` and `spock-spring:2.5-groovy-6.0`. Groovy on `9.0.x` is already `6.0.0`, so the `IncompatibleGroovyVersionException` opt-out added while Spock was still `2.4-groovy-5.0` is no longer required. - Bump `spock.version` to `2.5-groovy-6.0`. `gradle-spock.version` stays `2.4-groovy-4.0` because Gradle embeds Groovy 4. - Remove `-Dspock.iKnowWhatImDoing.disableGroovyVersionCheck=true` from the compiler forks, test JVMs, view-compiler propagation, Groovydoc fork, end-to-end build, and Forge-generated `build.gradle`. - Generated apps still get `useJUnitPlatform()` and the Geb `geb.env` wiring. This covers the Spock row of #16157 (item 11 / upgrade checklist item 1). That issue stays open: the other Groovy 6 workarounds are not Spock 2.5 fixes and are unchanged. Spock 2.5 also changes a few behaviors that this PR does not special-case, because no in-tree workaround was found for them: a null interaction target now throws `InvalidSpecException`, `Comparable<T>` mocks with a non-`Object` `T` use identity-hash comparison, interactions outside `then:` stay active in `cleanup`, and a top-level arrow `switch` in `expect:`/`then:` is no longer an implicit condition (GROOVY-12255). ## Verification - `:grails-core:compileTestGroovy` and `:grails-core:validateDependencyVersions` - `:grails-bootstrap:test` - `:grails-test-suite-uber:test --tests grails.spring.BeanBuilderTests` (33 tests, 0 failures), including runtime Groovy script compilation (`testLoadExternalBeans`, `testImportBeansFromGroovy`, `testBeanBuilderWithScript`) - `:grails-gradle-plugins:compileGroovy` `:grails-forge-core:test --tests GebWithLocalBrowsersSpec` did not run. The Forge test graph publishes the included framework build, and `:grails-spring-security-ui:copyTemplates` fails on current `9.0.x` with a pre-existing duplicate `views/aclClass/create.gsp`.
