@jdaugherty, @jamesfredley, in an attempt to recreate the [issue](https://github.com/apache/grails-core/issues/15819), I created a [new Grails 8 app](https://github.com/ruthst00/15819-response-renderer-overloads) with a controller action that calls `render(template: '_results', model: [...])` on an AJAX endpoint with no GSP layout. Unfortunately I don't observe any exceptions written to browser console or stdout/stderr: ``` java // grails-app/controllers/com/example/SearchController.groovy class SearchController { static allowedMethods = [results: 'GET'] /** * Returns an HTML fragment for AJAX callers, without a GSP layout. */ def results() { // Grails prefixes template names with "_", so this resolves to __results.gsp. render(template: '_results', model: [results: ['Grails', 'Groovy', 'Spring Boot']]) } } ``` Could this be a Grails 7 only issue? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
