## Summary - `StartupProgressSpec` shares one temp `browserDir` across features and records browser launches in `opened-<port>.txt`. - `freePort()` takes an OS-assigned port, so a later feature can get a port an earlier one used. The stale file then fails `does not open a browser unless asked to` (`!opened.exists()`), intermittently, on Linux and Windows CI. - `setup()` now deletes every `opened-*` file in `browserDir` (keeping `RecordingBrowser.java`). ## Tests Two adjacent features cover it: one leaves a stale `opened-<port>.txt`, the next asserts the directory is clean. Without the `setup()` change the spec fails (29 tests, 1 failure); with it `:grails-startup-progress:test` passes (29 tests, 0 failures), along with `codenarcTest`, `checkstyleTest` and `codeStyle`. The same spec exists on 8.1.x and likely has the same flake. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
