CollectionKeyColumnUpdater asked every unidirectional to-many of the owner for its Hibernate collection; a to-many mapped with type: 'serializable' or with a user type is bound as a column and has none, and getCollection() throws a MappingException rather than returning null, so such an owner failed the session factory build. Filter the siblings with HibernateToManyProperty.isBoundAsCollection. CollectionKeyColumnUpdaterSpec and MultipleUnidirectionalHasManySpec carry the cases of #16686.
