Groovy 6 compiles that class with the @Delegate-generated put in place of the override, so on 9.0.x the variable reached only the first map, the snapshot the config takes from System.getenv() never saw it, and every feature that installs a variable failed on Windows. The maps are now written one by one by installVariable and removeVariable, with no wrapper to compile.
