I could be wrong but I think no casts were needed before because there was
absolutely no type checking performed on return statements, so in previous
versions you could have used:
{code}return [Integer.valueOf(42)]{code}
without a compile error.
I am just curious about this issue because I saw it in a few projects I tested
(I missed the ternary problem), but figured the stricter type checking was an
improvement. It would be nice if it coerced the return type where possible,
but that didn't happen for method parameters in the past.
