Craig White created GROOVY-8020:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Strange performance issue for code wrapped in while()
statement
                 Key: GROOVY-8020
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GROOVY-8020
             Project: Groovy
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 2.4.4
Environment: Groovy Script Engine in a Java app on Windows
            Reporter: Craig White

See bug Groovy-8019

A similar issue exists for a while() statement.
However, it doesn't seem as dependent on the while condition code. Just the
fact that the for loops are wrapped in a while() statement adversely affects
the performance of the for loops.

A brief look at the code changed for 8019 (not that I fully understand it)
makes me think there may be other cases that should be reviewed for a similar
issue.
