[~jwagenleitner] and [~jkemnade] maybe I am now looking stupid, but I still do
not get it. If categoriesInUse is the problem, then why do you not have to
synchronize all reads and writes to it? I am especially thinking here about
hasCategoryInCurrentThread. Even if endScope and newScope are synchronized,
since hasCategoryInCurrentThread is not, it can lead to T1 and T2 still having
different values for it.
The reason categoriesInUse even exists is for performance. reaplace it by
directly using the AtomicInteger and see what happens. Or by synchronizing the
read in hasCategoryInCurrentThread. And do not forget, that is a cost we
basically pay on each method invocation during callsite caching. Indy is using
the dEfaultMetaClassInfo logic, but I assume it has the same problem
