For a number of years, we have used an optimised version of Antlr4:

It has performance improvements and was getting updates meanwhile the original
project wasn't changing much, e.g. the gap from 4.7 to 4.8 was almost 3 years.
Recently however the original project has had updates, e.g.:
https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/org/antlr/antlr4/4.11.1/
We haven't managed to get the optimised version updated with the improvements
from the original - hence the patched versions. It might be the best we can do
until that project progresses again.
It isn't ideal though, the patched coordinates show up as unknown in certain
BOM analysis tools as per attached picture from BOM Dr (beta) tab in Sonatype
lift:
