   Kept — the naming deliberately mirrors the marshal family: 
`MarshallableMessage#marshal` is the hand-written hook a generated 
`<Message>Marshaller` delegates to, and `DeployableMessage#deploy` is exactly 
the same role on the deploy side. Renaming only the deploy side would break 
that symmetry, and renaming both (`CustomMarshallableMessage`/`customMarshal`) 
grows well beyond this thread.
