I had this error once undeploying a VM on Azure:

Looks like the machine was not yet undeployed.
The stacktrace points to

computeService.destroyNode( instanceId );

 And it is probably related to:

CleanupResources -> public boolean cleanupVirtualMachineNICs(VirtualMachine 
virtualMachine)
