"Unlike the -source and -target options, the compiler will detect and generate an error when using APIs that don't exist in previous releases of Java SE." This property is used by following plugins, - maven-compiler-plugin , doc:<https://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-compiler-plugin/compile-mojo.html#release> - scala-maven-plugin, doc: <https://davidb.github.io/scala-maven-plugin/compile-mojo.html#release> ### How should we improve? _No response_ ### Are you willing to submit PR? - [X] Yes.
